Lee Elia, former manager of the Cubs, went into this tirade 25 years back. Now he's back at Wrigley tonight, and this tirade is awesome. Listen to.

The Fed

Here's an interesting article about the Fed. I still don't understand why the U.S. wants to take a yuan-appreciating manner in dealing with China. Japan did the same in the 80's, and their economy has been stagnant. I have no idea what Mr. Goldman Sachs (Paulson) & Greenspan have been smoking.

Alexander to the Bears?

Shaun Alexander was recently released by the Seahawks, and I'm just wondering if he'd be a good pickup for the Bears. Cedric Benson struggled last year, and maybe picking up Alexander would be a good backup. He'd be cheap, and would be a great backup &/or starter. Yea, he was injured last year, but who knows, he may have 2-3 years good years left.

How far will housing prices go?

Robert Shiller is the one who predicted the housing bust in 2006, and know he claims that housing prices will go down 30%. Thats insane, but this will allow the market to correct itself. In the mean time, get ready for the $4.00 gas/gallon.

Hmmm

Liberal Bias?

The media continues to blame Greenspan for the major cause of the subprime mess. However, the introduction of the Community Reinvestment Act during the Clinton years intially started this.

Roger Clemens

I was reading Jose Canseco's latest book (Vindicated), and he mentions of how players used to say they were using "B12." This apparently was the code name for steroids at the time. It's interesting to hear Clemens state that Brian McNamee (his trainer) injected him with B12 in his rear. I'm thinking to myself....why on earth would you inject B12 through your ass (with the help of a guy) when you can first inject this through your arm or take B12 supplements. Sounds really weird. But looking at Clemens stats, the second best year he ever had was in his early 40's. Usually, people's bodies tend to break down once they peak 35.. Clemens struggled, then all of a sudden became the invincible hulk. Look at guys in their 40's now...Randy Johnson is no longer what he used to be (he did win a CY Young though when he was 40), Maddux has lost a few steps, Glavine, and many others. I wrote about this two years back, and people were skeptical...however, after this fiasco with McNamee, it seems that Clemens did use 'roids.

What?

A study claims that there are less blacks in baseball.

Absolutely, this is a stupid report. There seems to be many hispanics in baseball these days, but in fact, people don't consider some Hispanics black. Let's see, last time I checked Alfonso Soriano's background, he was of African descent but born in the Dominican Republic. There are a bunch of Hispanics who are just like Soriano, but they're not counted as "black." I remember one time the NAACP was bitching at the Braves for not drafting "black players." Um.... the majority of Hispanics they have on the team are of African descent. Maybe, if they changed blacks to African Americans...the study would make sense.

Bleh

Too bad the government may raise taxes again.

Healthcare Epidemic

A nationalized health care system won't work, yet a free market health care system won't allow everyone to obtain health care. With the baby boomers starting to retire, I wonder how this is going to play out.
