Marmol

It seems as though the Cubbies have been playing Carlos Marmol in situations he isn't supposed to be in. Today, the Cubs had a comfortable lead (7-2) over the D'backs, and Piniella puts in Marmol in the 9th. I've seen too much of Marmol this year, and overusing this guy is a bad idea. Why not put in Howry for two innings (especially when he hasn't seen as much action as in the past)? I remember in '03 how the Astros overused Lidge, Dotel, and Wagner, and as a result, they crashed & burned the last week (thus allowing the Cubs to win the Division). The Cubs are being cautious with Woodie as the closer, but when it comes to crunch time, they better make sure Marmol will be ready in September.

Lee Elia

Lee Elia, former manager of the Cubs, went into this tirade 25 years back. Now he's back at Wrigley tonight, and this tirade is awesome. Listen to.

The Fed

Here's an interesting article about the Fed. I still don't understand why the U.S. wants to take a yuan-appreciating manner in dealing with China. Japan did the same in the 80's, and their economy has been stagnant. I have no idea what Mr. Goldman Sachs (Paulson) & Greenspan have been smoking.

Alexander to the Bears?

Shaun Alexander was recently released by the Seahawks, and I'm just wondering if he'd be a good pickup for the Bears. Cedric Benson struggled last year, and maybe picking up Alexander would be a good backup. He'd be cheap, and would be a great backup &/or starter. Yea, he was injured last year, but who knows, he may have 2-3 years good years left.

How far will housing prices go?

Robert Shiller is the one who predicted the housing bust in 2006, and know he claims that housing prices will go down 30%. Thats insane, but this will allow the market to correct itself. In the mean time, get ready for the $4.00 gas/gallon.

Hmmm
